First thing we ever did together was at Central Methodist Church in Washington. It was 1952 at an ice cream social and I was on the sidewalk churning away. But the bucket was unsteady so I asked this cute gal to come hold it still. She stood up on top of it until I finished churning. When it was finished she took the pail inside and I thought that ice cream wishes it was as sweet as that little gal.
A friend or somebody in the crowd said that the problem with that as our meeting memory, was that she would always think of me as "ole cranky himself."
Leah, my sweet wife is my inspiration.
